Spanish monks in particular? This looks like a pretty typical Franciscan habit. I know some very wonderful artists who spend a decent amount of time copying works by old Masters. I think it's a valuable exercise, and I'm glad to see you going for it. I don't know what the background of the painting looks like, but you have done a nice drawing of the monk.
